The Wall by Haushofer, Marlen,
Publisher: Pittsburgh, Pa. : Cleis Press, 1991.
I accidentally found this book in the basement of the library when someone left it on a desk. After reading the first few pages I was intrigued with the idea of being perhaps the last person on earth. Marlen Haushofer lived from 1920 to 1970 and this is the English translation of her original German novel. Her whole idea of the wall and how it would protect someone from what was happening on the other side of the wall and what that would mean was very thought provoking. Besides being cataloged as nuclear warfare fiction, I also think that it could be classified as survival fiction.
